Apple,A1012 apple battery , is reported to be working on a new version of the iPad with a 7-in display that it hopes to launch before the end of the year.
The current version of iPad, launched in April, features a 9.7-in display.
According to IDG News Service, two Taiwanese newspapers have reported that component manufacturers in the country have received orders from Apple for the supply of iPad 2 components,nt379 d620 battery.
Last week, Taiwan’s Digitimes reported that the island nation’s companies are working on the 7-inch iPad,M8244 apple battery, which will feature an improved processor based on the ARM Cortex A9 core, 512 Mb RAM and 1,024 x 768 pixel display.
The Chinese-language Economic Daily News has since confirmed the development and named several Taiwanese companies involved in the project.
The companies named include Chimei Innolux and LG for supply of 7-inch LCDs with IPS (in-plane switching), like the ones used in iPad,A1080 apple battery; AUO and Sintek for the digitizer, Cando Corporation for touchscreens, and Compal Electronics or Pegatron along with Foxconn for assembly of iPad 2.
The Economic Daily News had earlier correctly revealed Apple’s,A1057 apple battery, plans for launching the iPad before any other publication.
Dell became the second big manufacturer to enter the tablet computer market with the launch of its Android 1.6 powered Dell,Dell 1501 , Streak in Europe in June and the US in August. The 5″ tablet computer also works as a smartphone.
Samsung is expected to officially launch its Android 2.2 powered, 7-in Galaxy tablet P1000 at the IFA consumer electronic,A1175 apple battery , show in Berlin next month.
MSI is also expected to announce its Windows 7 Home Edition powered 10.1″ tablet at the IFA.
With competition starting to heat up in the tablet computer market, it would make sense for Apple,A1185 apple battery, to leverage its lead by introducing new models with different screen sizes to widen the choice for consumers.
